0. The Rules.

Once again, I find myself trying to keep up with a P365.

But.
This time, I feel much more prepared. I know what I'm expecting of myself. Unlike last time, there are rules beyond "365 photos."

I've been following a lot of other people's attempts, reading a bunch of "How To" posts. A few were ridiculous. A few were amazingly helpful.

Katrina Kennedy's blog in particular has help me set the rules in my mind for what it is that I'm looking for from this.

So here goes. The Rules:
This is about two things - Documenting my life and Becoming a better photographer. So - I will take a photo every day. It does not have to be artistic every single day. Sometimes it will be a picture of my laundry pile. And that's okay. If it's a Laundry Pile Day I'm still documenting my life and learning about my camera and how I can photograph still lifes. So it still follows the basic driving principle. When I'm writing each day's post, it's okay to just write a sentence or two. I don't need to write every single thing that happened in a day. Just the moments that I really really want to remember. And since those will hopefully be the ones I photograph, the picture descriptions will be just fine for journaling. It's also okay to not finish the post each day as long as I took the photo and wrote down some notes so that I can finish it when I have more time.

I think the biggest reason people fail at keeping up with a P365 is that they expect too much of themselves. That's why I'm giving myself some leeway. I'm not going to let myself off the hook entirely, but I am going to cut myself some slack when things get hectic.

So, there you go. Those are my rules. Lets see if I can stick to them for the next 365 days.
